چکیده

The structures and stress of the Sb/Si~001! surface have been studied by a semiempirical tight-binding Green’s function method. The Sb/Si(001)231 surface is found to be under a tensile stress of 1.0 eV/(131 cell! along the dimer bond and a compressive stress of 21.1 eV/(131 cell! along the dimer row. Calculations of the surface stress for Sb/Si~001! (234), (235), and (236) reconstruction, which is formed by shifting dimers in the dimer row to the adjacent trench, show a significant relief of the compressive contribution to the stress along the dimer row comparing with the case of the (231) reconstruction, and thus a decrease of the stress anisotropy.

Stress relief from missing dimers on Bi/Si(001)

Based on first principles calculations, we studied the structural properties of group V elements P, As, Sb and Bi on the Si(001) surface. For one monolayer of the group V atoms on the Si(001) substrate, stress and stress anisotropy scaled almost linearly with atomic size, implying that the obvious source of surface stress was atomic size effect. We found that stress relief was responsible for t...

Stress Relief and Material Properties Improvement Through Vibration VS. Common Thermal Method

The goal of this study is investigating reduction of residual stresses from welding carbon steel plates through vibrationstress reliefmethod vs. thermal method. In order to carry out the required experimental tests, carbon steel plates were welded together under specific conditions as samples. Some of the samples were vibration stress relieved, some were thermal stress relieved while the rest r...

O1: The Importance of Anxiety and Stress Relief Programs

Stress is a physiological reaction to the ever-increasing demands of life. After each stressful event, the body should be returned to a normal relaxed state. However, continuous stress of modern life sometimes put the subjects at risk of developing a range of diseases; from psychosomatic to anxiety disorders. Stress management program gives a range of tools to reduce the impact of stress and pr...

Impact of time-of-flight on qualitative and quantitative analyses of myocardial perfusion PET studies using 13N-ammonia

BACKGROUND The impact of time-of-flight (TOF) in myocardial perfusion (13)N-ammonia positron emission tomography (PET) is unclear. METHODS AND RESULTS Twenty consecutive subjects underwent rest and adenosine stress (13)N-ammonia myocardial perfusion PET. Two sets of images were reconstructed using TOF-ordered subset expectation maximization (TOF-OSEM) and 3-dimensional row-action maximum like...

Surface reconstructions for InAs„001... studied with density-functional theory and STM

The stability of different surface reconstructions on InAs~001! is investigated theoretically and experimentally. Density-functional theory calculations predict four different surface reconstructions to be stable at different chemical potentials. The two dominant reconstructions are the b2 ~234! for high As, and the a2 ~234! for low As overpressure. This trend is confirmed by scanning tunneling...
